Trip Description: Start your Japanese adventure in the city of Tokyo — stocked with the most Michelin-starred restaurants in the entire world. You’ll spend your days touring beautiful temples, shrines and markets, sampling the world’s best sushi, ramen and seafood as you go. The journey continues in Kyoto, famous for its temples, gardens, palaces and rich history. What makes Kyoto most special, though, is the atmosphere. In the Gion district, you might spot a geisha walking to her next appointment, or a group of young and trendy students hanging out by the riverside. The food here is second only to Tokyo, with everything from Shabu Shabu (Japanese hot pot) shops to heavenly udon noodle holes in the wall. While in Kyoto, you can take day trips into Arashiyama to see the cascading bamboo forests, or to Nara to see the thousands of deer who roam freely through the town.

After back-to-back city experiences, you’ve earned some relaxation. Miyajima, the Island of the Gods, is one of the most scenic spots in Japan, just outside of Hiroshima. You know that famous red tori gate that sits in the water against the sun? Yup, that’s here. You’ll find time to both explore this charming town and unwind in a private onsen (natural hot springs bath).

From Miyajima, make your way to Osaka — the bustling fashion capital of Japan. There’s luxury shops on every corner and if you’re sick of Japanese food, we have a killer burger joint to send your way. From Osaka, you can take an easy day trip into Kobe, known for its signature melt-in-your-mouth marbled kobe beef. Lifechanging, I kidd you not.

The grand finale of your once-in-a-lifetime trip comes in the form of stunning beaches. Made up of more than 150 islands, Okinawa will steal your heart with its tropical weather, coral reefs and turquoise water.
